Bill started his full time real estate career in real estate in 1983 with a prestigious firm in Accomac, and became a broker in 1987, founding Parr properties in 1989. His passion for working with big farms and estates has resulted in some of the largest land sales in the region, as well as a significant number of which became important conservation holdings. These include adding over 800 acres to the National Wildlife Refuge, and the original land sale for the establishment of Kiptopeke Beach State Park in 1992. Bill's expertise in land use and development serves both the development and the conservation communities equally. "I've sold remote natural area islands over a thousand acres in size, which is about the most challenging environment a broker can encounter – using everything from helicopters to airboats to conclude complex waterfront land transactions."
“Parr Properties was founded on the fundamental principles of integrity; value added professional service, and a commitment to excellence. It's been an honor to be a trusted source for property owners to rely on us as a critical resource in making important decisions", said Parr. These principles have guided the growth of Parr Properties as a leader in the Eastern Shore Real Estate industry, while maintaining a small and dedicated staff of some of the best people in the business.
Coastal Virginia is a place rich in history, with numerous important historical homes and sites that require special attention in the marketing process, and we have the experience to ensure that those details don't get lost in the process. We have represented buyers and sellers of fine homes and waterfront properties from the Maryland line to Virginia Beach. We cover thousands of linear miles of saltwater shoreline in our market area, and believe that we know the waters very well.
Bill believes in serving his industry and his community. He served as a local board president in 1992 and again in 2010, and has served on the board of directors of the State association and its commercial council as a Chairman. He has been active in public debate over local land use regulation as well as state and national laws. In 2011 He served as the chairman of the Northampton County Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee to formulate important Economic Development plans, and in 2013 Served as the Chairman of the Governors subcommittee on Entrepreneurship and Innovation for the Virginia Rural Jobs Council. From 2013 to 2021 he served as Chairman of the Economic Development Authority of Northampton County and its Incorporated towns.
Bill is a "Seasider", who lives in the village of Seaview on Mockhorn Bay overlooking the barrier islands - and has a passion for boating and exploring the numerous waterways of the Eastern Shore.

Kendall S. “Ken” Odell began his career in real estate in 1992 serving the rural counties of Hanover, Goochland and Louisa where his family had settled in the mid 1700’s. Under the guidance of one of Virginia’s first female brokers, Ken learned the etiquette and business of real estate with a focus on land, farms and community development.
Ken learned early on the value of working with County Planning and Zoning staff, County Supervisors and landowners as growth moved west from Richmond into his rural native community. Ken has always been an advocate for the exercise of property rights while preserving the rural integrity of the native lands of his ancestors, many of whom were instrumental in the founding of Virginia.
In 1997 Ken became a general contractor and formed a residential and commercial construction company. This allowed him to advise clients through the entire process of acquiring land, obtaining permits, working through the design process, and building that new dream home.
In his youth, Ken was first introduced to the waters of the Chesapeake Bay at a family cottage on Gwynn’s Island. Over the years of sailing and boating experiences, Ken developed a love of the water and eventually while staying on his boat on extended trips, he found his first waterfront property on Fishing Bay in Deltaville. He spent over twenty years on the Bay in Deltaville and helped develop a yacht club expansion, several marinas, and an indoor boat storage facility while also working with new home construction and waterfront properties.
Ken’s growing family shared his love of the water, and his four children grew up sailing, boating and enjoying the opportunities of the Bay. Two of them graduated from Virginia Tech, and one from VCU, and his youngest is now attending Cape Charles Christian School. Two of his adult children are now in the professional environmental and engineering business, and one is back in school studying real estate. His youngest also serves his community as a member of Exmore Troop 314.
Over the years Ken experienced Cape Charles Harbor often while visiting friends and family, and grew to love the Eastern Shore community. After getting in the habit of keeping one of his boats in Cape Charles on Kings Creek regularly, he eventually purchased a home in the Bay Creek Golf Resort community where he resides with his wife Kelly and his youngest son Jackson.
Ken brings over 30 years of real estate and construction experience and his love of the rural lifestyle to his new real estate practice with Parr Properties Coastal, Coastal Realty Brokers and Advisors since 1989 and will be working from the new Parr Properties office at 235 Mason Avenue at the Cape Charles Hotel, in the former location of Seagrass Floral.
